Daria and Gianfranco will offer The Haterleigh guests an international experience from their years of personal and business travel which took them, literally, all around the globe. After years in the corporate world, Daria and Gianfranco decided to make a change and opened their lovely and successful Bed and Breakfast in Rome, Italy.

After several years of owning and operating the Bed and Breakfast in Rome, they made a family decision to move to a place offering an abundance of natural beauty, friendly people, and a gentle pace of life.
Victoria, BC offered the quality of life they were looking for and Daria and Gianfranco happily made it their new home.

I have lived in Victoria for 16 years, with my wife Darlene and have two wonderful children. I have worked in the hospitality industry for 20+ years, which has given me many rewards and allowed me to follow my great passion in the career I've chosen. Starting out in fine dining and family owned restaurants, I have worked in a variety of positions culminating with Restaurant/Lounge Manager. I am in the process of completing my degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management at Camosun College. I find great pleasure as an Innkeeper in a Bed and Breakfast that is full of character and charm. This has given me such a wonderful opportunity to interact with people from around the world and be an emissary for the city of Victoria and Vancouver Island that I have grown to love.

Thomas Mohrs

I moved to the west coast of Canada when I was very young all the way from the Netherlands and just can't pull myself away for the west coast. I have done a fair amount of traveling in my life but always come back to Vancouver Island, the ocean, forests and of course the great people. I have been trained to be a chef and worked in the industry for some years, but now I want to deal more with people, while working towards my degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, I love talking to people and learning more about them and showing my pride of this amazing Island we live on. I hope we get the chance in the future, so I can learn more about where you come from and I am able to teach you more about Victoria.
